I have opened, owned, and managed a salon and a team of stylists. I am responsible for all duties of running and managing a business and staff, implemeting constant education, and creating a well-educated team. I've been involved in fundraisers for homeless and abused women of Nashville, provided donations to Nashville Predators Hockey League Charities, and donated services to help build a new playground for Vanderbilt University's Autistic Children's Program.
Since I began my career, I have worked with a multitude of models, singers, actors, comedians, and other professional performers.
During my time in Los Angeles in the 1990s, I had the opportunity to work with many celebrities, including musician Robert Palmer, opera singer Demetra George, and actress Evelyn Moriarty (former roommate and stand-in actress for Marylin Monroe). I also worked as personal stylist to actress Kristy McNichol for six years.
After returning to Alabama in 1999-2003, I had the opportunity to work with such stars as Kathy Lee Gifford, author Barbara Taylor Bradford, and UT Knoxville basketball coach Pat Summit.
In 2003, I moved to Nashville, Tennessee, and became an entrepreneur. I have opened and managed four salons, including my current business, Hair by Shana Michelle Taylor. I have worked with country music singer Sarah Evans, world-renowned singer and actress Reba McEntire, and international super model Karen Elson. I also styled hair for many fashion designers during the very first Nashville Fashion Week in 2010.
